Sustainability Assurance Service – Assurance to GRI sustainability principles Upstream Sustainability Services can offer clients independent and expert assurance services from highly respected practitioners in the fields of real estate and corporate responsibility (CR). Our assurance engagements (based on the best practice ISAE 3000 assurance standard and AA1000 principles) are tailored to the needs of our clients and can include:
- Assurance to the GRI ‘G3’ principles and to GRI Level C+ or B+
- Assurance of core report elements such as key performance indicators and target progress

Setting sustainability reporting best practice standards The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting framework. In 2009 Jones Lang LaSalle/Upstream Sustainability Services was appointed as the consultant leading the development of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Construction and Real Estate Sector Supplement, to be published in 2011. This provides us with a unique understanding of current and future best practice sustainability reporting standards within the sector.
Upstream Sustainability Services has also been selected (in 2009) to support the development of a real estate section of the Prince of Wales’s Connected Reporting Framework, the objective of which is to link financial value and sustainability performance. |
