The 2008 OSCAR database contains:
- 198 buildings
- 132 air-conditioned buildings
- 66 non air-conditioned buildings
- The annual “churn” of properties within the database is 25%, which compares to 46% in Oscar 2007.
- The non air-conditioned buildings are represented fairly uniformly across all geographical regions, whereas the air-conditioned buildings are better represented within London.

Building size profile

- The non-air conditioned buildings generally fall within the size range of 10,000 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft, whilst 70% of air-conditioned space is above 40,000 sq ft.
- There is a reduction in the number of larger non air-conditioned buildings.

Building age profile

The key observations from the sample are:
- 75% of the air conditioned buildings are under 20 years old from their date of construction or the last date of refurbishment, whilst approximately 50% of non air-conditioned buildings are over 30 years old.
- The trend continues for a proportionate increase in the number of buildings under 10 years of age.
